NEW AGE DOOM's second album, HIMALAYAN DREAM TECHNO, was released December 11, 2020 on WE ARE BUSY BODIES and sees core duo of drummer ERIC J. BREITENBACH and multi-instrumentalist GREG VALOU joined by TIM LEFEBVRE (of David Bowie's ‘Blackstar’ band) on analog synths and upright bass and GREGORY MACDONALD AKA "COLA WARS" (of Limblifter and Sloan) on analog synths and tape echo.

PRESS & REVIEWS

"...sprawling and intense... [builds] like extreme weather towards peaks of furious noise...

An absorbing listen that continues to open itself up across repeated plays."

The Wire (UK) - December 2020

"[An] unsettling piece of art, mimicking the forces of nature at their most destructive, that demands to be heard in one unbroken sitting."

The Arts Desk (UK) Disc of the Day - January 2021

"New Age Doom simply refuse to recognize musical boundaries ... this is a great record that offers a new take on doom, noise, drone, or whatever subgenre you care to place it in."

NEXUS (Canada) - December 2020

"...vertiginous ... truly ritualistic ... to get lost in this music is effortless ... This is not controlled chaos – it’s chaotic control."

A Closer Listen - January 2021

"[A] powerful psychoactive improvisation stream. The band ardently lures the listener on a journey through their intriguing vision. Like thousand years old underground shamans, they master a hyper-jump to reach cosmic chaos."

Grotesqualizer - October 2020

" ...when I hit play on the track ‘Phononic Landform Resonance I knew this was really good stuff ... with the experimental noises it should sound like chaos but it is far from that!"

Fuzzy Sun - November 2020

" ...[layers] masterful and technically terrifying percussion with tube amp screamers, modular freak outs and soothing ambient tones. It’s a completely fucked, completely right piece of music for the frontier coming home."

Tome To The Weather Machine - December 2020

"...an ecstatic frenzy of muscular experimentation."

Cyclic Defrost - November 2020

"...incredibly cathartic [and] exudes more energy than you could ever believe for its whole duration."

Mix It All Up - December 2020

" Combining virtuostic percussion, upright bass and squelching, squealing and cannonballing analog electronics, New Age Doom shred the space time continuum like a bullet through glass. Shattering possible futures and dimensions with abandon."

Tome To The Weather Machine - January 2021

"...expansive and pummeling."

Groundsounds - October 2020

"Insert this in any playlist and watch heads turn (and maybe explode)."

American Pancake - December 2020

"The path for a listener should be: find your finest speakers; lend yourself a moment of peace; dive in headfirst."

giveitaspin.gr - October 2020
